The builders in Greece went on a strike on Wednesday, 14 March, for the problems the sector is facing from the attack of the capital.
Video of Giannis Tasioulas, member of the UITBB Secretariat, addressing the rally:
The demands are:
- Signing of a Collective Agreement in the sector.
- Pay rises
- Measures to protect the unemployed and boost building activities
- Recognition and allocation of work stamps for older jobs done by builders.
In Athens, the demonstration took place at 11 am at Kaniggos Square, while similar protests have been organised for many cities in the country.
To prepare the strike, various outings have been carried out in the last days, in difference work sites.
