UITBB statement on International Women’s Day 2024

On this significant occasion, the Trades Union International of Workers in the Building, Wood, Building Materials, and Allied Industries (UITBB) commemorates and pays tribute to International Women’s Day 2024. Once again, it reaffirms its unwavering commitment to enhancing the living and working conditions of women, fueled by the resolute spirit that defines its identity.

In this moment, we extend our heartfelt militant greetings and respect to the mothers, wives, daughters, and sisters, all working women who fight at work, for their family and for society.

Today is a day to intensify the struggle towards equality and an opportunity to communicate and connect with women workers around the world.

Amidst these challenging circumstances, UITBB remains steadfast in advocating for women’s rights, particularly within the construction industry. Issues of equity, equality, maternity leave, gender pay parity, and combating workplace sexual harassment are at the forefront of our mission.

We honor the sacrifices of women worldwide, reaffirm our international solidarity, and pledge to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with them in the pursuit of a better world—one that fully meets their contemporary needs.
