UITBB condolences on the death of comrade Raimundo Brito
With deep regret and sadness, the UITBB has been informed of the death of comrade Raimundo Ferreira Brito in a road accident in Brazil. Comrade Raimundo was a director of SINTRACOM-BA and FETRACOM-BASE, and a member of the UITBB Executive Committee.
The UITBB and its General Secretary, were very proud to have a leader like Raimundo in its ranks, with his unwavering solidarity with the working class, his lifelong dedication to the global and progressive trade union movement and his selfless dedication to our cause for a new society. He always defended the rights of workers in the construction sector, not only in Bahia and Brazil, but throughout the world, through the ranks of the UITBB.
Raimundo was one of the most combative trade unionists, a class-conscious construction worker, a good comrade and a loyal friend to myself personally.

In this moment of sadness and deep grief, we express our deepest condolences and solidarity with his family, friends and comrades in the trade union movement.
We have lost a courageous comrade, but his work and legacy will outlive him. The class struggle for a new society and for the rights of the working class will continue along the path walked by comrade Raimundo.
On behalf of the millions of UITBB workers around the world, rest in peace, comrade Raimundo. You will always be remembered.
