No more blood for wages!

No more blood for wages!

UITBB, participated in a demonstration towards the Ministry of Labour, on the issue of Health and Safety in Cyprus. Based on data from the Department of Labour, 683 accidents were reported in the first half of 2024 compared to 634 in the same period of 2023. The number is up by 4.4%. Dealing with old and new risks requires first of all the identification of the source that creates the outbreak of occupational accidents. And the source is always the same, it is the fact that capitalism wants to make profit, even when the price is human life itself.

Work with rights, with regulated working conditions through collective labour agreements is the best foundation on which to build a solid system of monitoring, control and improvement of safety and health measures.
