Message by UITBB General Secretary at FLEMACON’s 55th Anniversary

With militant greetings and camaraderie, the International Union of Building, Wood and Building Materials Workers (UITBB) extends its warmest and most militant congratulations to the Latin American Federation of Building, Wood and Building Materials Workers (FLEMACON) on the commemoration of its 55th anniversary.
Fifty-five years of existence is the story of a relentless battle: a story marked by class struggle, the firm defense of peace, and unwavering resistance against capitalist exploitation and imperialism that plague our peoples in Latin America.
The founding of FLEMACON in October 1970 not only established a regional trade union vanguard, but also consolidated Latin American Construction Workers’ Day. This day symbolizes unity, workers’ dignity, and a permanent commitment to social justice and the construction of a world without oppressors or oppressed.
We reaffirm our unconditional solidarity with every FLEMACON member and every worker in the sector on the continent. The UITBB greatly values the internationalist spirit of FLEMACON and its role in coordinating the global response of workers.
May these 55 years serve as inspiration for new generations! We will continue to march together for freedom of association, improved working conditions, and the construction of a more just future.
Long live FLEMACON!
Long live the unity of construction workers in Latin America!
Long live international proletarian solidarity!
