The Trades Union International of Building, Wood, Building Materials and Allied Industries (UITBB) expresses its deepest solidarity with the people of Venezuela following the devastating earthquakes that struck the country on June 24, 2026.
We mourn the loss of life — already reported in the hundreds — and stand with the thousands injured and the many more whose homes, workplaces, and communities have been destroyed. In this hour of tragedy, our thoughts are with the families searching for loved ones and the workers risking their lives in rescue and recovery efforts.
UITBB extends its full support to our affiliated union in Venezuela, FUNTBCAC, and to all workers who are on the front lines, helping as muchas they can. Their courage and expertise are vital in this critical moment.
We call on governments, international organizations, and fellow trade unions worldwide to provide immediate humanitarian aid, technical assistance for safe reconstruction of homes, and support.
In the spirit of international working-class solidarity, UITBB stands shoulder to shoulder with Venezuelan workers and the people of Venezuela. We call upon everyone who can to support in any way possible the people of Venezuela.
