UITBB statement of solidarity to the workers and people of Turkey and Syria

UITBB expresses its international solidarity with the people of Turkey and Syria who are the victims of the recent devastating earthquakes that struck and has killed so far more than 11,000 people, also causing huge damages to buildings and infrastructure.

We express our sincerest condolences to the victims of the earthquakes and their families.

It is in such times, when solidarity and concrete action by trade unions are needed more than ever, so that effective assistance can be offered to the victims of disasters.

We call upon all our member organisations around the world to stand by the side of our brothers and sisters in Turkey and Syria, and provide any support they can by any means possible.

Our hearts go to all the people affected by such a destructive event.
