EBHI Workers on Hunger Strike

Four workers at EBHI in Asturias in Spain have started a hunger strike which has been ongoing for four days. UITBB has sent the following solidarity message to them:

The organization Trades Unions International of Workers of the Building, Wood and Building Materials Industries (UITBB) wants to express its unwavering support and wholehearted solidarity with the four workers in EBHI company from Asturias, who are now in their 4th day of hunger strike.

We believe that the workers’ demands for no layoffs, for respecting the agreements between workers and companies and for not using the Covid-19 pandemic as an excuse to worsen the workers’ job conditions are fair and just.

All the workers and organisations-members of UITBB around the world support your struggle, comrades, and your right to strike, which has been earned with the blood of our comrades throughout history.

We condemn EBHI’s attacks against the workers, and we are certain that you will emerge victorious in this battle.

Long live International Solidarity!
